First 100 characters in less than an hour

This is not a click bait, you can indeed remember these 100 characters in no time (the meaning, not the pronunciation). For the first 20 characters you don’t need any knowledge of Chinese,. For advanced list that breaks characters down by etymology check this list TODO post link.

1) 一 (yī) – one [ Simple to understand, a single stripe equals 1]

2)二 (èr) – two [ Same сoncept as 1 ]

3) 三 (sān) – three [ Same concept as 1 and 2 ]

4) 亖 (sì)  – four (sadly, the modern form and the only form of this characters you’ll ever see is 四, which you can think of as a cube that has 4 edges if that helps)

5) 五 (wǔ) – five. Think of it as five lines, 一 in the top, then丨going down, 一 crossing the middle,丨going down, 一 horizontal line at the bottom.

6) 〇 (líng) – Zero. It is simple to remember, as it looks like the number zero. It is also written as 零.

) 十 – (shí) think of it as 2 sticks worth 5 overlapping each other.

) (rén) – person. It depicts a picture of a walking person.

) (zhōng) – middle. A line crossing rectangle in the middle. You might know this one from 中國 which is literally translated into the middle kingdom.
